The Ambrette Restaurant and Perfect Partners cheese and Wine merchants are hosting a gourmet fine dining evening of fine food and carefully matched wines. We aim to take you through a journey of flavours and aromas. It's a marriage of exotic flavours and complex wines.


Soft-shell crabs (Scylla Serrata)

Golden fried with spices served with a salad of crab meat and shallots.  These crabs are caught in the temperate waters of the Pacific Ocean near Vietnam. The entire crab, including its shell is deliciously edible. It is a rare delicacy .

Served with Montevista Viognier Reserva 2011 Do de Coquimbo, Chile
Bright, vibrant & expressive with a touch of pear fruit and an aromatic finish   

Tender and sweet brochettes of local lamb 
Marinated in mouth-watering pickles and charcoal roasted.            

Served with Sablets “La Citadelle” 2008 Côtes du Rhône Villages, France
Immediately appealing. Smooth textured cuddly red with oaky nuances of mocha & nutmeg.    

Tender breasts of wood pigeon
From the village of Godmersham   char grilled with ginger and aromatic spices. Served with a delicious game mince patty and a raita of shallots and coriander.

Smoky strawberry fruit, fresh Citrus acidity provides backbone for the gentle silky finish     

Fresh fish from the day’s catch
Pan grilled with peppers, coriander, fenugreek and carom seeds. Served with a gently spiced and fragrant sauce of mustard, ginger and kari leaves

Served with Touraine Sauvignon Blanc 2010 Domaine Pre Baron,Oisly, Loire
Aromas of apples & gooseberries leap from the glass. Crisply mineral                

Breast of Gressingham duck
Pan grilled with spices and accompanied by a sauce of fresh oranges, fennel and cinnamon. (We cook this unique variety of duck medium rare to ensure that it retains its succulence and fantastic gamey flavour) The Gressingham Duck was created by crossing the Wild Mallard with  the Pekin Duck (a domesticated variety bred in China). The result is a  duck bursting with wonderfully succulent flavoursome meat.

Black cherry, plum and coffee. Sweet vanilla & toasty notes from a short time in oak

Well balanced sticky with floral aromas. Ripe apricot & acacia honey mingling with lemon curd!
